Patrick McAlexander
Director
Patrick McAlexander is a lifelong musician and barbershopper. He grew up in Indianapolis, IN, where he started playing piano at age 5 and joined Circle City Sound chorus at age 7. Since then, his love for music has only grown.
Patrick has sung with and served in musical leadership for several choruses over the years, most notably serving as assistant director and section leader for the Music City Chorus and singing with them as they won the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2022 International Chorus Contest. He has also enjoyed great success with several quartets over the years, with one district quartet championship, two Next Generation Quartet medals, and six international quartet contest appearances on his résumé. Patrick is a certified Music Judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society and a sought-after arranger of barbershop music, having arranged for several international champions and groups of all kinds of voice configurations. He has been a part of Space City Sound since 2021.
Patrick holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, where he also minored in Music and Computer Science.
In addition to directing Space City Sound, Patrick currently serves as Musical Director of The Houston Tidelanders and sings tenor in Panda Ring. Outside of music, his passions are his wife Sarah, spending time with friends, competitive reality TV, and fantasy sports.
